At Wander Foot Podiatry a biomechanical assessment is a comprehensive evaluation that looks at how your joints, muscles, and nerves work together during movement and gait. It helps identify the underlying causes of foot, ankle, and lower limb pain and supports the development of an individualised treatment and management plan. During your biomechanical assessment, your podiatrist will: Assess your standing posture and walking pattern Review your current footwear and provide tailored advice on the most suitable options for you Examine the range of motion, mobility, and strength of your joints and muscles from the hips down to the toes Discuss lifestyle factors and physical activities that may be contributing to your symptoms Take a detailed history of your pain or injury, including onset, duration, and characteristics Provide guidance on posture, stretching, strengthening exercises, and other appropriate treatment options and interventions
